Bref, J'ai acheté une nouvelle voiture et je sais même pas comment c'est arrivé... ah si, on peut revenir un peu en arrière... (toulouloulou...) je suis arrivé au States en mars 2009. En Mai, je me dit, tiens t'aurais p'tet besoin d'une voiture. Alors j'ai fait comme ils font tous ici, je suis allé sur craigslist. J'y ai passé des heures. C'était trop long, trop chiant, trop cher... Je me suis dit, Alex, t'es sûr que t'as besoin d'une voiture. J'ai arrété. Je suis allé faire des courses. C'était trop loin, trop chiant, trop lourd! Je me suis dit, Alex, t'as pas le choix, du coup j'y ai passé plus de temps. J'ai finalement trouvé, j'ai acheté. Elle était pourrie, mais j'ai rien eu à réparer, ou presque et elle marchait trop bien. Après 2 ans et demi toujours nikel! Là, j'ai réalisé que j'avais économisé de la tune depuis le début. J'me suis dit, Alex, qu'est ce que tu fous, vends ta caisse, fais toi plaiz'. Du coup je suis retourné sur craigslist... pareil qu'avant trop long trop chiant trop cher. Alors j'ai essayé Autotrader.com. Trop Cool, trop simple et ya plein de caisses. J'ai cherché un moment, j'ai cru que j'allais pas y arriver. Je me lance, j'en essaie une, deux... je ferme les yeux. Je rentre dans la voiture, le Monsieur me dit: "Drive safe and have fun"... ... ... Bref, J'ai acheté une nouvelle voiture... (toulouloulou...)

Last year, I got to buy a new camera... I turned into a crazy person, looking for the best deal I could find, and I wasn't even paying for it as it was a present from my family. I was obsessed, I was talking about it all the time, thinking about it all the time!

Well, this year, I found even better!

My car, 93' Mazda MX6 aka. Ze W. Mobile, which I owned for almost 2 and a half year, decided a week ago that falling apart was funnier than staying alive! I went for a last time a the garage... 500 bucks for a timing belt and a pulley! No more!

It's the end of a legend, a myth! I can't count how many people admire its double color paint job, the perfect cracking dashboard, clean destroyed interior!

As I was saying, I found better... I have to change MY CAR!!!! Muwahahahahahaha!! Get ready to suffer, because I am not ready to shut up! Cars are so expensive, I mean nice cars are expensive!! Buying a car here is like showing what social class are you belonging to... Should I go for a "polarized car" or stick to some kind of basic car? HAHA! Even if I know that some people are dreaming about seeing me behind the wheel of a PT Cruiser Convertible with burning woody parts on the side... I won't give them that pleasure!

Any suggestions?

Obligé de faire un second message pour la même journée, tellement c'était ouf! :)

Remise en situation, on est allé la journée goûter du Chardonnay et Pinot Noir à Sanford Winery, puis manger à Solvang histoire de fêter l'anniversaire de Mat.

Puis, retour à LA pour le concert de Revolver @ The Satellite in Silverlake, qui, comme en Octobre, étaient au top! Bref, le concert se passe, on reste un peu, de fil en aiguille on fini par taper la discute avec eux dehors, totally casual! Les mecs sont vraiment cool, je sais pas pourquoi je raconte ça ici, mais bon... ça fait du bien de voir des gens qui se prennent pas la tête et qui en plus de ça font du bon son, aussi bien sur l'album, que live, ou acoustique!

La pluie et le froid de ces derniers temps ont eu raison de moi! Peu de photos donc pour alimenter le blog!! Pas de panique, on change d'heure dans moins de 2 semaines, l'été est donc proche ! (puis quand je dis froid... on reste quand même autour de 10-15 °C au mieux de la journée... c'est la nuit qu'on se les caille!!)

Bref, j'ai quand même eu le temps de me balader samedi matin vers Echo Park, histoire de vous donner de quoi vous faire patienter un peu! Je passe un peu plus de temps de ce côté là de LA (East LA, complètement différent du Westside, i.e Santa Monica, Venice, Culver City, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood etc...). A l'occas' j'essaierai d'en montrer un peu plus

Un capteur 16Mpix et un mode Full HD video, de quoi gratter tout le marché du Canon 550D, qui est certes moins cher, mais la qualité et l'ergonomie du D7000 lui donne un net avantage!!! Bref!! C'est fête!

Pour cette nouvelle année, une photo de Mammoth, prise du chalet, le premier jour!

Résolution 2011... Plus de photos, encore plus, et de videos!! oui oui!! AlexinLA va se voir "upgradé" dans peu de temps d'un reflex... Reste encore à choisir le modèle, mais il se pourrait bien que ce blog entre dans une nouvelle ère!! Nouveau style, nouveau concept, nouveau format... qui sait??

Au fait, des idées de DSLR?... canon 550D? 60D? et l'objectif? 18-200, 18-55, fish-eye...? le choix sera difficile!

Xmas in SoCal

Le temps d'une journée, on attends que le soleil se couche et on se plonge dans l'esprit de Noël à l'américaine... Sourires à bloc, le temps d'une crêpe ou d'une waffle Nutella, on oublie les palmiers, l'océan, short, flip-flops et vélo ... hop, au placard. Direction The Grove!

Désolé Flo, mais il me fallait une illustration du "sourires jusqu'aux oreilles" qui va si bien avec l'esprit de Noël! haha!!

Allé, Noël jusqu'à la maison! Contrairement à certains... nous, on a un sapin!! haha!!

BIg Sur

Dans la série des petits trip week end... Big Sur! On a eu un temps de fou sur la route aller et retour! A mettre aussi dans la série des coucher de soleil de fou etc... bref! En revanche, on s'est chopé la flotte le temps qu'on a passé dehors... pas cool!

Dans la série des restos à retenir au States, Dametra Café à Carmel... C'est un resto "méditerranéen" (mix français, italien, grecque, libanais...) On y bouffe bien, on y bouffe bcp, et on boit gratos surtout! Nan je déconne, mais bon, on a eu le droit a un verre de vin pour avoir attendus 5 minutes, et dessert plus une bouteille offerte par la maison, pour avoir mis l'ambiance dans le resto... Speciale dédicasse à Sophie! haha!

Bon week end, comme d'hab!

Départ pour Mammoth Lakes dans 10 jours, puis Paris, Dijon, Solliès-Pont, Metz et peut-être Nantes avant de rentrer à LA!! Attention, dans la liste des villes se cachent des intrus qui ne font pas parti des vacances! haha!

Winter time in SoCal

Winter time in SoCal... c'est pas les grosses chaleurs, mais au moins on a du soleil...

Ya un truc que j'ai remarqué cette année et pas l'an dernier... les couchers de soleils sont juste complètement fous à cette période de l'année! On peut les apprécier que le week end, but man! they're so beautiful! A l'occas' je ferai un post spécial... le truc c'est qu'arriver à avoir les couleurs exactes en photo, le mélange de jaune-orange ou rouge-rose suivant l'heure avec les teintes bleues claire et les nuages qui contrastes par dessus... surtout quand le seul appareil dispo sur le moment est celui de l'iPod... bref, je m'en lasserai pas!

Les photos bruitées sont des tests d'HDR iPod... pas grosse qualité, mais c'est marrant!

Bon, c'est plus un petit relâchement mais un gros largage là!! J'ai complètement délaissé le blog là! Bon, petite session rattrapage ce week end avec pour commencer quelques photos du petit trip à SF ya quelques semaines de ça!

(petite pensée pour tous le see-lions qui ont décidé de se casser de la baie... quand je pense que l'an dernier en Aout y'en avait 100 fois plus!!)

Bref, un petit week end haut en couleur, de bons souvenirs, du sun et du fun!!

Alex-in-LA s'est vu upgradé d'un iPod Touch récemment.. d'où le petit style old school! Allé pour le plaisir, deux autres petites photos! ca fait quand même un bout de temps que j'ai pas posté!

Ce week end... SF, enfin San Francisco! Pas d'occas' particulières, juste un bon week end en perspective! De quoi alimenter un peu le blog!

Temps de merde en début de semaine, trombe d'eau, coupure de courant, la totale! Pour se rattraper, on a eu le droit à un week-end de fou... de quoi profiter de la playa et du bike path un 9 Octobre, sweet!!!
